Nowadays brides and grooms have hundreds of wedding themes to choose from. There are destination weddings on tropical islands, beach front weddings in the sand, Star Wars themed ceremonies with the groom dressed like Luke Skywalker and the bride disguised as Princess Leia, and the list goes on and on.  But what about the couple that’s looking for a romantic wedding with sunsets and beautiful ocean views? The Yacht Club of Sea Isle City is the venue for this style wedding. We got a chance to talk with their Event Coordinator, Heather Garrabrant, and she let us know what makes the Yacht Club ideal for so many couples. 

Bliss: What sets The Yacht Club of Sea Isle City apart from other venues located by the shore?

HG: Our venue is so special because of the beautiful views of the sunset overlooking the back bays of Sea Isle City- the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Brides love the views of the water and sunset from our Yacht Club. It brings them back to when they were children, visiting the shore with their families every summer.

Bliss: Where’s the best spot for photos at The Yacht Club?

HG: My favorite photo op, without a doubt, is on our back decks. The water and sunset make for an indescribable backdrop that every bride falls in love with.

Bliss: What kind of menu do you offer for the reception?

HG: Our chef works directly with each wedding couple to develop a special menu for their guests, the fare is delicious. Making the menu unique to each bride and groom is another way of making their big day even more special.

Bliss: As the Event Coordinator, what exactly is your role in the planning process?

HG: I’m there to help the bride and groom through the journey of planning their wedding celebration. I make sure I’m available to help guide them and offer helpful tips when needed.

Bliss: Is there a specific kind of wedding The Yacht Club is more suited to host? 

HG: We host many non-traditional and casual weddings. The Yacht Club is at the shore so it goes with the territory. Some couples wish to maintain a classic, black tie wedding, but some want a more casual atmosphere. The new club will certainly suffice every desired feel.

Bliss: What’s the most memorable wedding you’ve coordinated so far?

HG: My most memorable wedding was that of a couple that just before the wedding, found out they were expecting. The bride, groom, and I were the only people that knew. It was so special to anticipate them making the announcement to their friends and family at the reception.
